My name is Hein Pragt and I own a small personal company called heinpragt.com. I have been a software developer since 1977 and I was one of the home computer developers in the early beginning of personal computing. I started as an embedded programmer and hardware designer and I worked on many innovations in computer industry in data communication and Internet. I also worked on the first GSM data implementations. My main programming languages were assembler, C and C++ at that time.
I also developed some games at that time. In 1999 I completely switched to Internet programming in Perl and PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript and after a while from c++ to C# DotNet. When Android apps were hot, I also developed some Android apps, but my main interest is Windows applications. Currently I develop my applications and games in the Unity game engine, C#, C++ and C, and my web apps in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. In 2018 I started my own company beside my daytime job, to create and sell my applications and games.
I really like adventure games and I was a big fan of Sierra games and alle the Cyan games like the Myst games. My favorites are First person point and click games with a good story and puzzles that would ben possible in real life. Since a few years I also like walking simulators, games that tell and interactive story. I enjoy creating games myself, it’s like you’re creating your own world and it gives you the chance to build it exactly as you like. I now have many years of experience in Unity and C#, also I have a lot of experience in 3D design (using Freecad) and Photoshop. In my younger years I have been a professional musician for a few years and I still make my own music. Making games also gives me the opportunity to add some personal experiences to my games, like the autistic young man in Amerwold Woods.
